التزكية وأعمال القلوب ليست علومًا كمالية إثرائية، بل هي من العلوم الأصيلة التي تتأكد العناية بها، وتقدم على كثير من العلم . قال ابن القيم رحمه الله في الوابل الصيّب: «فمعرفة ما يفسد الأعمال في حال وقوعها، ويبطلها ويحبطها بعد وقوعها من أهم ما ينبغي أن يفتش عليه العبد، ويحرص على علمه ويحذره».
