والسبب هو ندرة امتصاصه من أنسجة الأنف Nasal mucosa حيث أن امتصاصه أقل من 1%، وبذلك فهو آمنٌ جداً خاصة في للأطفال من عمر سنتين.
وهذا ينطبق على كل بخاخات الأنف الكورتيزونية المحتوية على مادة Mometasone furoate.
