أثناء محاكمة عمر المختار ، رحمه الله سأله القاضي هل حاربت الدولة الإيطالية : قال نعم وهل شجعت الناس علي حربها : قال نعم وهل أنت مدرك عقوبة ما فعلت : قال نعم وهل تقر بما تقول : قال نعم منذ كام سنه وأنت تحارب السلطات الإيطالية : منذ 20 سنه هل أنت نادم علي ما فعلت : قال لا هل تدرك أنك ستعدم : قال نعم فيقول له القاضي بالمحكمه أنا حزين بأن تكون هذه نهايتك فيرد : بل هذه أفضل طريقه اختم بها حياتي !!!
فيحاول القاضي ان يغريه فيحكم عليه بالعفو العام مقابل أن يكتب للمجاهدين ان يتوقفوا عن الجهاد ضد الإيطالين فينظر له عمر ويقول كلمته المشهورة : ان السبابه التي تشهد في كل صلاه ان لا إله إلا الله وأن محمد رسول الله لا يمكن ان تكتب باطلاً ؟؟
