由于任天堂在新冠疫情期间曾采用远程办公，研发团队通过改进普通会议软件的“共享画面”，将每个开发成员的游戏画面分别显示在窗口周围，结果竟然特别有那种“大家带着游戏机聚在一起玩”的感觉，于是“分享游戏画面”在此契机下，被提议制作出来。
