في الجاهليّة كان الرجل يحج ويعود إلى بيته ولا يدخل من الباب الأمامي للمنزل، إنّما يثقب حفرة في خلف البيت أو يتسّلق الجُدران من الخلف ويدخل للمنزل بأيّ طريقة .. المهم لا يدخل من الباب الأمامي للمنزل لإعتقادهم أن هذا بِرّ وقُربة إلى اللّه.. فـ نزلت آية نهاهم فيها اللّه عن ذلك في قوله تعالى: ﴿وَلَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَن تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِن ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنِ اتَّقَىٰ ۗ وَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ﴾
