Первый официальный портрет короля Карла III получил в народе неофициальное название «Тампон». Причиной послужил весьма необычный вид в ярко-красных красках. Лицо короля буквально утонуло в крови. И судя по выражению лица Чарльза — он явно ожидал чего-то другого.

Сторонники теории заговоров перевернули кроваво-красный портрет Карла III и увидели изображение дьявола с рогами. Такой образ вырисовывается, даже если просто соединить два портрета, не переворачивая их. Ну и вспомнили, что сам монарх является потомком Дракулы (Влада Цепеша) в шестнадцатом колене.
