Norden Gateleg Leg Dimensions, Color Q

I've googled and searched and could not find the answer, but if anyone has the width and lengths for the Norden legs I would greatly appreciate it. I want to add permanent extenders and have someone who can make it, but I won't have it in person for a while yet.

Also, I am going to paint and got it in birch since it seemed to be made with better materials...but maybe white would have been easier to paint?

Thank you!

Lack Shelf Wall Bracket Click Me Load More

I know the loading capabilities of the Lack shelves are fairly limited, but am curious if this is primarily due to the flimsy material (i.e. cardboard) in it's core? Is the wall bracket itself reasonably substantial and capable of loading? If someone had the measurements for where the screw holes are as well that would be useful to know if they might line up with studs in my wall.

I would like to mount some floating shelves in my own kitchen for an alcove which is just slightly wider than the maximum lack shelf (196cm vs. 190 cm shelf) but the bracket could be an ideal mount for a more solid shelf I might try make myself. The fact it is a continuous bracket looks like it would be quite a bit simpler to ensure is level than a number of smaller individual floating brackets.

Not a hack, just something I noticed that might make you smile

So... for whatever reason, my wife bought a spice rack. From Ikea, the well known purveyors of flat-pack stuff.

I'm not questioning it.

But it's called a "bekvam".

\-vam is the Klingon *noun* suffix meaning "this".

And beQ is the Klingon *verb* meaning... "be flat".

Now, it's not entirely grammatically correct, but come on, that is a good gag, right? Because no way is this a coincidence, RIGHT???

Either way - choDojmoH, Ikea ("you have caused me to be impressed").

Pax in ~2m alcove

Hi! I have an alcove in my bedroom which is 203cm wide. I need to mention also that there are skiring boards 1.7cm thick and 5m tall. I think I will have to get rid of the skirting board at least from one side, right?

Is it thinkable to put a Pax (2x1m) with sliding doors in the alcove? Would you suggest to mount it directly inside or just outside and then gently push it in?
Do sliding doors stick out a little bit, or will they stay within the 2m?

Elvarli posts for storage loft?

I cannot find what the load capacity is for the Elvarli vertical floor-ceiling posts, but I was wondering if I could use 4 of them in a square forming a cube between my floor and ceiling to hold a platform mounted to the holes in the Elvarli post (with the appropriate load-bearing capacity) that will hold up to 300-400lbs?

Can you use Pershult brackets for Tranhult shelves?

I recently bought the combo mentioned in the title (3 Pershult brackets and a Tranhult 120 cm shelf) since I don't like the look of both.

However once I came home, I started having second thoughts on whether the pershult brackets are actually strong enough to hold up the tranhult shelf since it's actually quite heavy on its own.

Does anyone have experience with combining the two? Many thanks in advance!!

I'm in love with my new desk, made with 3 alex drawer sets and two pieces of butcher block. I sanded, primed, and painted the drawers in Ben Moore's Copper Clay. Highly recommend for those looking for a custom size/wall length desk. You can check out the video I made about the process here, if you'd like :) https://youtu.be/9Yf7Jmml0iU?si=PKm0g-DYyvo7Cf8v

19” pax fake drawer/low front shelf privacy shield ideas?

My pax is in half our coat closet and I can’t put drawers or put doors on due to tight space but I want the stuff inside to be less visible, and the effect to be less utilitarian looking. I’m not sure what to use to cover up a little.

Maybe a false drawer front to cover the bottom 3rd? Frosted glass insert? I’d like something more stable at the edge than a bin and I’m not sure how to implement that.

Should build my own or does anyone have a nicer idea? Our cost closet always seems to stay half open.

Maximera rotation

Anyone have a hack for rotating the front panels of maximera?

They fit and are installed correctly, but I’d like to rotate them to align to my (slightly angled) side panel.

Replace dresser with bins help

I want to replace my kids dresser with drawers with shelves and bins. I’m thinking bookshelves or kallax cubes, but concerned about the height. I do want a top to put lamp, jewelry box, etc. and I’ll hang a mirror on the wall above it to try to give a similar feel for a dresser. Any ikea furniture ideas that would work?
