Mistakes of those Fasting

أخطاء الصائمين

8. Hastening the Sahuur.

It came in the Saheeh of Bukhari (1) from the Hadeeth of Zayd ibn Thaabit رضى الله عنه who narrated:

: تَسَحَّرْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ. قُلْتُ : كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالسَّحُورِ ؟ قَالَ : قَدْرُ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً.

"We took the Sahuur with the Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . Then he stood for the Ṣalāh." I asked, "What was the interval between the Sahuur and the Adhaan?" He replied, "The interval was estimation of reciting fifty ayaat (of the Qur'aan)."

Commentary

The hadeeth points to the encouragement of delaying the sahuur till the time of sahr. And that's why it's compliant with the name it's called.

His statement: The interval was estimation of reciting fifty ayaat (of the Qur'aan)":

Al-Haafiz Ibnu Hajar رحمه الله said:
It is an estimation of a third of a fifth of an hour (2) ie four minutes (3).

Hastening the suhuur from midnight is permissible but it's opposing the Sunnah, for the suhuur is called that because it happens at a time of hiding.

If a person does suhuur at midnight, he might miss Salatu Al-Fajri due to sleep overpowering him, also, delaying the suhuur is more gentle on the one Fasting and it calls for being energetic because from the intent of suhuur is strengthening the body for fasting and preserving the energy, thus, from wisdom is delaying the suhuur. It is thus befitting for the one Fasting to stipulate this prophetic etiquette and not hasten the suhuur (4).

Telegram auto-delete message, expiring invites, and more

elegram is updating its messaging app with options for auto-deleting messages, expiring invite links, and new unlimited groups, the company shared in a blog post. Much like Signal, Telegram received a burst of new users in the confusion over WhatsApp’s privacy policy and now the company is adopting features that were already part of its competitors’ apps, features which offer more security and privacy. Auto-deleting messages were already possible in Telegram’s encrypted Secret Chats, but this new update for iOS and Android adds the option to make messages disappear in any kind of chat. Auto-delete can be enabled inside of chats, and set to delete either 24 hours or seven days after messages are sent. Auto-delete won’t remove every message though; if a message was sent before the feature was turned on, it’ll stick around. Telegram’s competitors have had similar features: WhatsApp introduced a feature in 2020 and Signal has had disappearing messages since at least 2016.

Launched in 2013, Telegram allows users to broadcast messages to a following via “channels”, or create public and private groups that are simple for others to access. Users can also send and receive large data files, including text and zip files, directly via the app.The platform said it has more than 500m active users, and topped 1bn downloads in August, according to data from SensorTower.AWFIBNMAALIKISAAMICLIBRARY Telegram Group from sg
