統計處昨日公布由去年中至今年中，有8.92萬名香港居民淨移出。香港大學系教授葉兆輝今日在電台節目表示，根據過往10年的數字，從未試過有如此大的相差，可能令社會出現青黃不接，期望政府正視及承認相關問題。他預計離港人數的高峰將出現在今年下半年至明年。
葉教授指與97年前比較，當時有人希望待環境較安定後再回港，但今次情況較多是一家大細舉家離開。
