Similarly, the overrepresentation continues with respect to maternity and paternity benefits.

There was a substantial increase in "other nationals" recipients towards the end of 2020, continuing into 2023.
One of the interesting overrepresentations was in the pandemic unemployment payment, which was taken advantage of by many.

Once again, non-Irish citizen overrepresentation. Lots of news stories about his.
Some other overrepresentations included illness benefit, jobseekers benefit and and widows non contributory pension.

For which non-Irish citizens stood at 18%, 20% and 30% of the recipients for Q1 2023, respectively.
There is a caveat here. We can't get a full picture owing to the lack of ethnic data for the Irish citizen component (think of all the passports given out to foreigners etc).

But if the trend among non-Irish citizens continues among those who obtained Irish citizenship, then the picture is probably worse than laid out here.

Imagine dumping a load of foreign men in a camp site right next door to a woman whose sister was murdered by a foreign scam artist. She begged them not to but was ignored.

That's the government.

These are the people really angry at the Anti-Plantation protestors for having tricolours at protests when here they are wanting to take it down from the mast to appease the very loyalists they accuse the protestors of being in league with.

Ireland is a neutral country not in NATO

I wonder what letting tens of thousands of people who are Pro-NATO to vote in elections will do.

They were taking no chances and had the public order unit out to escort two minibuses of asylum seekers into the Carraroe Coral Hotel today. One of the buses had a UK reg. Rumours are circulating that investors recently purchased the property.

Carraroe is the village with the highest population of Irish speakers in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Nowhere is sacred. Nothing is off-limits.

"I often heard my father say that no man of the name of Mullen, Moloney or Staunton was allowed to join or take the oath of the White-boys."

Folklore Friday: an account of the surnames which were considered taboo by the Irish Whiteboys.

A brief, interesting insight into the intersection of shame culture and violent agrarian activism in 18th century Ireland.

Ireland, the land that produced the first boycott, was home to a rich shaming culture - we may live to witness its return.
