⚜️How do heat waves occur? How does air mass contribute to heat waves?

⚜️Early warning for heatwaves sees huge improvement-

🅾️The extreme heat in parts of India in April is attributed to climate change. Studies indicate high temperatures were 30-45 times more likely due to climate change. Without climate change, such temperatures are unlikely. World Weather Attribution research connects early summer heatwaves to climate change, with 2022 and 2023 seeing significant April heat. Heatwaves are defined by high temperatures, with IMD setting a 40-47°C threshold. Heatwaves occur when temperatures are at least 5-6°C above normal, severe if 7°C higher. Data on heat-related deaths is sparse, but NCRB and Health Ministry reported significant fatalities in 2022 and early 2023.

🅾️The three main ethnic groups in Manipur are the Meitei, the Naga, and the Kuki-Zomi-Mizo. The Meiteis form about 53% of the State's population, and the Naga and Kuki-Zomi communities constitute 17% and 26% respectively.

🅾️The recent ethnic violence has roots in complex socio-political issues and has been exacerbated by actions such as the suspension of operations agreements with certain insurgent groups. This turmoil has led to clashes, including staged protests and skirmishes with police

Gs-3 : Economic growth- Productivity

🅾️It is the key for economic growth, job creation, and improved quality of life. India’s productivity has grown 5.6% annually since 1997, doubling GDP per worker from $6,200 in 1997 to $21,800 in 2022, second only to China

🅾️MGI reports 70% of productivity improvement is due to capital growth per worker, but India's capital stock per worker is still lower than China's and Central/Eastern Europe. Indian companies must better utilize capital, as 1000 firms account for 70% of market capitalization but show poor returns on invested capital (ROIC)

Gs-2 : IR- IMEC- Issues and solution.

🅾️During the course of Gazar war, the Houthis in Yemen have blocked the ships of Israel and its western allies from accessing the Red Sea, despite naval deployment by the U.S. Navy and Europe. As a result, Israel and its western allies have been forced to take the longer route across the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, increasing shipping time and costs.-

🅾️What is the point made here?- Overcoming missing links and insulating IMEC from regional conflicts is essential for its success as a trade facilitator across regions- For this Oman provides an alternative route, with its ports accessible from the Arabian Sea, avoiding the Persian Gulf region. 🅾️Eco-Restoration Policy of kerala (2021):
⚜️What is it for?- Addressed the "proliferation of invasive species unsuitable for our environment."
⚜️It noted depletion of natural forests, forcing wild animals into human-occupied areas, increasing human-wildlife conflict.

⚜️Rationale: Mitigate climate change effects and restore natural habitats.

🅾️Issue : Kerala Government Issued an order allowing Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) to plant eucalyptus trees for financial livelihood.Environmentalists argued that allowing KFDC to plant eucalyptus contradicted the eco-restoration policy.
