欧航局公布观测森林碳储量卫星发回图像
今年四月，欧洲航天局成功发射了一颗观测森林碳储量的卫星。这颗卫星是欧洲航天局 “地球探测者” 系列任务中的第七颗卫星，搭载了 P波段合成孔径雷达，可以穿透云层和树冠，直接测量树干等木质生物量，为估算森林碳储量提供数据。近日，该机构公布了卫星发回的首批图像。这些卫星图像展现的区域包括玻利维亚、巴西、印尼等国，通过色彩区分各景观元素：绿色主要代表雨林，红色代表湿地等，蓝紫色代表草原，黑色则代表河流和湖泊。全球森林每年吸收约80亿吨二氧化碳，然而，森林砍伐与退化正将储存的碳重新排放到大气中，加剧气候变化。
