🎙The Indo Daily https://lnkd.in/dUiprMdn - for an Irish view of the world and exposure to Irish accents
🎙The News Agents https://lnkd.in/dgubG2Uc - mainly UK politics
🎙The Bunker https://lnkd.in/d_6Zake3 - mainly UK politics
🎙Oh God, What Now? https://lnkd.in/dUwrR3jn - mainly UK politics, unapologetically pro-Europe
🎙Full Story https://lnkd.in/dbQg6h3b - for an 🎙Australian view of the world and exposure to Australian accents
🎙Today in Focus https://lnkd.in/dsmwsPWc - another Guardian podcast, this time on topical British issues
🎙Freakonomics Radio https://lnkd.in/dsQGfiQD - it’s subtitle, ‘The hidden side of everything’, says it all - definitely a great place to start if you’re convinced you’ll never find economics interesting
🎙The Economics of Everyday Things https://lnkd.in/dFjUrT_4 - the episodes are about 20 minutes long and provide some interesting fun facts
🎙No Stupid Questions https://lnkd.in/djVPwfhC - conversational podcast geared towards psychology. I definitely have a parasocial relationship with the two podcasters (one of them, Angela Duckworth, is a psychology professor).
🎙People I (Mostly) Admire https://lnkd.in/d2gm_aQC - interview show with a twist - what I like about Steve Levitt is that he’s neither aggressive nor deferential (hence the name of the podcast)
🎙A Slight Change of Plans https://lnkd.in/dkGJ72fn - inspiring life stories about how usually unknown interviewees have coped with major life changes
🎙The Complete Interpreter https://lnkd.in/dVcA-maV - a must hear for me as a conference interpreter and trainer; I often find myself recommending episodes to students
🎙The Jordan Harbinger Show https://lnkd.in/dR7HQNQs - some interesting interviews with fascinating people (‘from spies to CEOs’) and an entertaining and sometimes outrageous agony uncle type of episode on Fridays (Friday Feedback)

Telegram auto-delete message, expiring invites, and more

elegram is updating its messaging app with options for auto-deleting messages, expiring invite links, and new unlimited groups, the company shared in a blog post. Much like Signal, Telegram received a burst of new users in the confusion over WhatsApp’s privacy policy and now the company is adopting features that were already part of its competitors’ apps, features which offer more security and privacy. Auto-deleting messages were already possible in Telegram’s encrypted Secret Chats, but this new update for iOS and Android adds the option to make messages disappear in any kind of chat. Auto-delete can be enabled inside of chats, and set to delete either 24 hours or seven days after messages are sent. Auto-delete won’t remove every message though; if a message was sent before the feature was turned on, it’ll stick around. Telegram’s competitors have had similar features: WhatsApp introduced a feature in 2020 and Signal has had disappearing messages since at least 2016.
