Do the sheep you count laugh at you
as you drift off to sleep;
or do they sing a lullaby
that brings to you some peace?

Do your feet wander all night
looking for the coldest spot;
or do you fall asleep like you fall in love, into fluffy clouds, through rainbows?

Do you wake up at night
sweating over a nightmare;
or do you drift off to wonderland
tranquil, unaware?

Do you toss and turn all night
like you're on a carousel;
or do you sleep like a baby
tucked in and all is well.

Do you stare at your ceiling
'till there's no more darkness;
or do your eyes flutter open
to the sounds of the birds?

How have you been sleeping?
Honey, tell me true.
The latter, I'm hoping
So I can dream in peace too.
