فسَّر ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما الألم هنا: بـ(الوجع) وجاء في تفسير الإمام الطبري لهذه الآية أن المعنى: أي لا تضعفوا في طلب القوم، فإنكم إن تكونوا تتوجعون، فإنهم يتوجعون كما تتوجعون، وترجون من الله -من الأجر والثواب- ما لا يرجون.
