فعل عبارتی یا Phrasal Verbs به فعل‌هایی گفته می‌شود که بیش از یک کلمه هستند؛ کلماتی که در کنار فعل اصلی قرار می‌گیرند ممکن است قید و یا حرف اضافه باشند. در زبان انگلیسی استفاده از این افعال به خصوص در مکالمات بسیار رایج است.
👈 به طور کلی هر Phrasal Verb یک فعل به شمار می‌رود نه بیشتر. برای مثال اگر wake فعل است wake up نیز یک فعل دیگر محسوب می‌شود، با این تفاوت که هر یک از آن‌ها ساختار و معنی مستقل به خود را دارند و نمی‌توان آن‌ها را به جای یکدیگر به کاربرد.
👌 نکته قابل توجه این موضوع این است که شما باید هر فعل عبارتی را به صورت جداگانه بیاموزید و به هیچ وجه به شباهت ظاهری آن‌ها به همدیگر توجه نکنید.
