دوران امامت آن حضرت همزمان با هفت نفر از زمامداران غاصب بود که عبارتند از :

#هشام بن عبدالملک،# ولید بن یزید بن عبدالملک، #یزید بن ولید، #ابراهیم بن ولید و #مروان حمار از بنی امیّه و سفاح و منصور دوانیقی از بنی عبّاس.
