روي عن ابن عباس أن عدد حروف القرآن: (٣٢٣,٦٧١) حرفًا، وهناك عدة أقوال أخرى عن عمر ومجاهد وعطاء. وأكبر فائدة تستفيدها أيها المسلم من هذه الأقوال: أنك إذا ختمتَ القرآن يُرجى أن تكون حصلت على أكثر من: "ثلاثة ملايين حسنة"؛ بناءً على حديث ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه مرفوعًا إلى النبي ﷺ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ حَرْفًا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةٌ، وَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، لَا أَقُولُ: الٓم حَرْفٌ، وَلَكِنْ أَلِفٌ حَرْفٌ، وَلَامٌ حَرْفٌ، وَمِيمٌ حَرْفٌ».
فهنيئًا لأهل القرآن، وهنيئًا لمن داوم على ختم القرآن في رمضان وغير رمضان.
